Kelvin to Celsius
About these units
Kelvin
The kelvin is the SI base unit of temperature, starting at absolute zero (0 K = −273.15 °C), the coldest possible temperature. It uses the same step size as Celsius.
Celsius
Celsius (°C) sets 0° at the freezing point of water and 100° at its boiling point at sea level. It is the everyday temperature scale in most of the world.
Conversion formula
Temperature scales differ by both a zero point and a step size, so conversion uses a formula rather than a single factor: °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32, and K = °C + 273.15.
